For the next few days Student Life Guide will be letting you in on all the best internships there are to offer this summer, ranging from a variety of sectors from banking through to design.

Today, it’s law!

Browne Jacobson

Where: Nottingham and Birmingham.

When: Summer.

Salary: To be confirmed.

Browne Johnson are now offering a summer internship scheme paying a competitive salary and based in Nottingham and Birmingham. There are 20 places available on the scheme which is usually held in June. The course offers an extensive insight into working in law, from learning about the legal departments to conversing with partners. Applications end on February 1st!

Lewis Silkin

Where: Cardiff and London.

When: Summer.

Salary: To be confirmed.

If you are looking for something on a smaller scale, then the three day workshops offered by Lewis Silkin are perfect for you! Taking place only in London; you will gain an insight into what it’s like to work in a fun and fast paced law environment. According to Silkin, over the course of the week you will get to take part in interactive activities and spend the day with your team, there are also schemes which run in Cardiff if London is not really an option for you. Applications end on the 31st January!

Hill Dickinson

Where: London, Liverpool and Manchester.

When: Summer.

Salary: Competitive.

This is a summer internship taking place in London, Liverpool and Manchester with a competitive salary. You will get to spend time with the company to get a feel of what it is like to work day to day in a law firm office. Dickinson also stress that this is a perfect opportunity for them to analyse the work ethic, so make sure you try your best, as many of the summer placements usually end up working for the company eventually! According to the company, students who partake in the internship will be ‘on the radar’ for applications processes for employment. Nice! The placement is one week long.

Michelmores

Where: Exeter

When: Two year training contract beginning September

Salary: to be confirmed upon admittance.

This is a great to learn about what it is like to work at Michelmores, with offices based only in Exeter. You will get to spend the week in one the departments, learning about different areas of work, meeting more trainees such as yourself, conversing with employees and most importantly getting the time chance to experience what is it like working in a very quick paced environment. Applications end on the 31st January!

Osborne Clarke

Where: Bristol, Reading and London

When: Summer

Salary: depending on placement

This brilliant insight internship supplies you with a great look at the workplace in law, it also offers a wide range of different internships which you can apply for through the online site. The internships take place in Bristol, Reading and London  offering a wide range of activities with applications ending on 28th February, so you have time!
