It might be a cliche, but sometimes us students really don’t eat the most exciting things in the world. When your pockets are empty, it can be tricky to whip up a tasty meal. What’s more, if you lack a certain culinary talent, you might find that the thought of cooking sends shivers down your spin. Luckily for us, there are some ultra simple recipes out there. If you want to make a really tasty meal or snack in a matter of minutes, it’s honestly not as hard as you think.
1. Cereal Bars
If you’re tired of eating cereal each and every day, why not try to mix things up a little? If you want to make some homemade cereal bars, you really won’t need all that much. You can use any old cereal that you happen to have in the cupboard. Grab some marshmallows, some cooking spray and some Nutella too.
First of all, you need to spray the bowl with the cooking spray so that nothing sticks to it. Then, pour in some of your favourite cereal. Add a couple of handfuls of marshmallows and mix well. Pop the bowl in the microwave for just 30 seconds and then mix again. Separate the mixture and leave it to set. You can then add some Nutella for decoration and flavour.
2. Cheesy Ramen
Noodles are a staple for students, but you might want to try a new way of making them. For this one, you simply need to use a cheap instant ramen pack. Heat up the noodles in hot water, as you usually would but don’t add the packet of flavouring. Once you’re done, drain away the water and add some grated cheese and warm milk. Stir the mixture a little and you’re finished! Cheesy ramen is a delicious treat that takes just a few minutes to make.
3. Cookies & Cream Popcorn
For this indulgent treat, you will need popcorn, Oreos and some white chocolate chips. If you have microwave popcorn, first you need to heat it up and pop it all into a large bowl. Once you have done that, you should crush the Oreos so that they have a crumbly consistency. Melt the white chocolate chips and add them and the crumble to the bowl of popcorn. Delicious!
