13 Things Every Student Has Done During Exam Period

Sadly, playtime is over and the real work starts from here. Now is about the time every student starts to hate their life and with good reason too. Why? Well, exams are just around the corner which means that you’re going to spend the next few weeks in the library while the rest of the country is enjoying some rare British sun. I bet you can’t wait, right? Here are some of the things that all students have done during this horribly boring and stressful time.

1. Drank more coffee than ever before

When things get tough, it’s time to make yourself a humongous cup of coffee. Partly you do this to keep yourself awake during those long hours of revision… but mainly, you want an excuse to leave your bedroom.

2. Procrastinated like crazy

When you sit down to revise, it’s sometimes hard to really get into it. You will literally do anything else in the world but study for a few hours. It might not be productive, but you just can’t help it.

3. Realised you don’t have time to sleep anymore

If you leave your revision to the absolute last moment, there’s a chance that you can still pass… If you don’t sleep for the next three nights. It’s a big ask, but if you want to get a degree, it might be the only way.

4. Scheduled WAY too many breaks

They say that you can only really concentrate for 20 minutes at a time. Some people use this fact as an excuse to have a million breaks every time they sit down to study. Yeah, it doesn’t work like that…

5. Seen someone who studies too hard

And you quickly realise that they are way ahead of you when it comes to revision. Hate might be a strong word, but you definitely want them out of your life.

6. Had a cheeky little cry to yourself

Sometimes, all the pressure just gets way too much and you can’t take it anymore! Don’t worry. Having a little cry to yourself is completely normal so long as you wipe your eyes and carry on studying right afterwards.

7. Realised that you didn’t learn something in the first place

How can you revise a subject if you didn’t learn about it in the first place, eh? Maybe you should have been attending more lectures in the first semester.

8. Felt like giving up

When you hit a wall in your revision, it feels like trying to carry on is useless. After all, you definitely do not have time to learn a year’s worth of work right now.

9. Considered only studying some of your notes

If you don’t have time to study absolutely everything, you might have to choose which areas you will revise. Remember, this is a big gamble… But who knows? It might just pay off.

After a day packed full of boring old revision, there’s only one thing for it – it’s time to reward yourself with a teeny, tiny drink. Just make sure that doesn’t turn into a load of drinks or you will regret it in the morning.

11. Actually got really into your studies

There’s no shame in this one! Sometimes, you just get really into what you’re studying and can’t wait to get to the library. (Note: This happens rarely, but when it does, it’s awesome!)

12. Ate all the snacks in the world

While you’re revising, it seems that you have every excuse to binge-eat until your heart’s content. That means that it’s time to stock up on sweets, chocolate and noodles.

13. Called your mummy

When it comes down to it, all you really want is a word of support from your mummy and daddy. In your weakest moments, all you have to do is pick up the phone.
