The new music you need to listen to this month

Already 2017 has seen the return of some of our all-time favourite artists and the debut of some serious new talent. To make sure your playlist is up to date we’ve got a roundup of new music that has been released in the last two months. From pop singles to dance albums here’s what we’ve been listening to and loving…

New Singles:

Ed Sheeran

There is nothing more exciting than one of your favourite artists making an epic comeback and that’s exactly what Ed Sheeran did. In January Ed treated us to not only one new single but two. Shape Of You and Castle On The Hill made us swoon and marked Ed’s return to music. But the new music from Ed didn’t end there, as a special treat on his birthday, he released How Would You Feel and now, more so than ever, we are eagerly awaiting the launch of his new album Divide in March.

Katy Perry

Pop singer Katy Perry also made a comeback this month. Her new single Chained to the Rhythm was described by Bustle as a “disco-flavoured anthem” with a bright, pastel coloured video to match.

James Blunt

James Blunt also returned to music this month with his new single Time of Our Lives ahead of the release of his fifth album The Afterlove.

London Grammar

Indie band London Grammar’s new tune Big Picture was released this month with a stunning video to match the beautiful song.

20-year-old Norwegian Sigrid released her debut single, Don’t Kill My Vibe, in February which NME declared as a “belter” and we couldn’t agree more.

UK singer-songwriter Anne-Marie’s catchy new single Ciao Adios is giving us all the holiday feels. Can it just be summer already so we can go to the beach listening to this tune, please?

It Ain’t Me, a house-pop tune from Kygo, was released this month. The song, featuring Selena Gomez, is the first single from the Norwegian DJ’s upcoming second album.

Maroon 5

Maroon 5 released a new single ahead of the release of their sixth studio album this year. The catchy tune, Cold, is a collaboration with rapper Future (who has also released an album this month!)

Take That

Take That, which now consists of just Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, released the single Giants from their new album Wonderland out in March.

New Albums & EP’s:

Rag ‘n’ Bone Man

The British singer-songwriter released his debut Album Human this month. His catchy single, also called Human, is currently no. 2 in the UK charts!

As well as collaborating with Maroon 5 on their new track Cold, Future released his self-titled fifth studio album this month with a promise that his sixth studio album will also be out at the end of February.

The Australian musician, DJ and producer released some new music this month. His new EP Skin Companion EP 2 is an extension of the album Skin which won Best Dance/Electronic Album for at the 2017 Grammys.

Jens Lekman

Another comeback this month came from Swedish musician Jens Lekman. His first album in 5 years, Life Will See You Now, features up-tempo tunes with a disco feel.

Fatima Yamaha

Fatima Yamaha, an electronic musician and producer from Amsterdam, treated fans to 3 new tunes with his new EP Araya.

If you’re a fan of indie-rock give British band VANT a listen. They’ve played lots of festivals over the last few years but this month they finally released their debut album Dumb Blood.
